Blade Education is a not for profit company based in Leigh-on-Sea that builds and delivers projects over a wide range of areas that includes Education, Heritage, Social Disadvantage, Domestic Abuse and Multi-lingual information. SSFR is the 5th Heritage project that Blade Education has delivered and aims to use its community links to bring together the old and the young to remember those who lived and died to protect our freedom and bring school children together with a Poppy Exhibition in Remembrance week 2017.

The Leigh-on-Sea Branch of the Royal British Legion upholds the aims that Remembrance is kept alive and that the sacrifices our brave Service men and women have made are never forgotten and that the ex-Service community has a voice to air its concerns. Membership is open to everyone and the Branch meets at 8pm every 3rd Monday of the month (except January) at the Moose Hall in Cranleigh Drive, Leigh on Sea (SS9 2SY) where members get together to participate in social, fundraising and welfare activities.

The Commonwealth War Graves Commission ensures that 1.7 million people who died in the two world wars will never be forgotten. We care for cemeteries and memorials at 23,000 locations, in 154 countries. Our values and aims, laid out in 1917, are as relevant now as they were almost 100 years ago. See their website at:

The Essex Society for Family History aims to promote and encourage the public study of British Family history, genealogy, heraldry, and local history with particular reference to Essex and to promote the preservation, and accessibility of archival material.

The ESFH was founded in 1974 and became a registered charity in 1984. SSFR is working with the amazing people at the Southend-on-Sea branch of the society who hold meetings on the first Saturday of every month (except August) from 1330, Avenue Baptist Church Hall, Milton Road, Westcliff.
